We supply targeted demographic reports to assist veterinary practices to grow their client base.

About Demographics - Whether small or large, veterinary practices still need a targeted approach to potential clients. If you know an area, you may have a good feel to what is out there, but demographics uses actual data to give you a more defined answer to what you are looking for and gives you a head start in understanding your market.

Demographic applications - The main application for veterinary practices is to identify your clients and understand your competitors, demographics can help you avoid costly mistakes in your planning.

What are the essential demographic factors you need for an area?

    1. Purchasing power of the area.
    2. Purchasing power of pet owners in the area.
    3. Population changes of the area.
    4. Employment level
    5. Households with Pets (dogs & cats) in the area.
    6. Households with Pet Insurance.
    7. Households with pets that potentially visit private veterinary practice.
    8. Veterinary capacity for area.
    9. Information on the potential competitors

There are two areas to examine:

1.Your potential client base - Understanding the demographics of your target clients is critical for the success of your veterinary practice. You need to understand them in order to decide the viability of the area, the type of practice services you should offer, and the pricing of these services.

2.Information on your competitors – although you may know them from local meetings, background information on their services, prices and financials can be very useful.

Plan A. Potential client base Decide the area to survey. This should be the potential catchment area of say 80% of the client base. An excessively large area will dilute down the accuracy of any report. This can be by a single post codes, adjacent postcodes, or a radius from a fixed point. See the samples below.
